Agent Help V2 is our updated conversation layer, with a focus on South African sounding agents. It brings a more locally grounded voice experience to business calls. Alongside English and Afrikaans, isiZulu is now available to every Agent Help agent.
A receptionist is often the first voice someone hears when they contact your business. The words matter, but so does the way those words are delivered. A greeting can be grammatically correct and still feel out of place. V2 puts the sound and tone of that first interaction at the centre of the experience.
What we mean by a South African sounding agent
South Africa does not have one accent or one way of speaking. A familiar voice for one caller may not be the right fit for another. Our aim is to help a business choose a voice and delivery that suit its customers, rather than treating an overseas accent as the default.
That means considering pronunciation, pace, warmth and the level of formality together. A professional practice may want a measured welcome. A customer-facing service business may prefer a brighter, more conversational introduction. Neither needs to sound like a recording imported from somewhere else.
A voice should deliver the message, not just read it
Our V2 conversation layer focuses on expressive, context-appropriate delivery. A welcome, an appointment confirmation and a request to repeat a phone number should not all land in the same way. The goal is a consistent business voice with enough variation to make the exchange comfortable to follow.
For your setup, we work from the tone you want callers to hear. Clear and reassuring may be more useful than highly animated. Natural delivery should support the task; it should never make an uncertain answer sound more authoritative than it is.
isiZulu is available across every agent
isiZulu availability is not limited to a separate agent product. It is available to every Agent Help agent, alongside our existing English and Afrikaans offering. Your business still needs a clear language setup: how a call begins, how a language preference is established, and what happens if a request needs a person.
Our isiZulu receptionist guide explains the decisions to make before launch. Availability should be followed by testing the actual conversations your customers have, including names, contact details and requests specific to your business.
The workflow still matters as much as the sound
A better voice does not replace a well-configured receptionist. The agent still needs approved business information, booking rules and an agreed route to your team. Calendar booking and WhatsApp follow-up depend on the workflow and integrations configured for your account.
For example, an appointment call should end with the correct service, person, date and contact details confirmed. A pleasant greeting is useful, but the outcome is what your team and your customer will remember.
How to evaluate V2 for your business
- Bring a real scenario. Use a typical booking, enquiry or after-hours message, with fictional personal details for the test.
- Listen for your brand. Decide whether the pace, formality and pronunciation fit the people calling you.
- Test the difficult moment. Correct a detail, interrupt a sentence or ask something outside the approved information.
- Check the result. Inspect the booking, message or agreed handoff rather than judging the voice alone.
